My client are a leading heavy civil contractor based out of their new high end office in Brooklyn. They specialize in all aspects of Heavy Civil Construction projects, from Roads Highways, through to Wastewater Sewer and Underground Utilities projects.Your New RoleDue to their continues success in securing new projects they are continuing their growth and seeking to add a Senior Civil Estimator to their team. To be successful in this role you will be required to:Conduct a thorough review of the contract plans, specifications and other documents for the bid items assigned.Know general requirements and special conditions.Solicit quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.Prepare HCSS comparison sheets.Prepare documents for bid and proposal submission.Prepare pre-bid or green sheet estimate.Set up Bid in HCSS.Price-up bid items and review with VP of Estimating.Timeline equipment.Provide assignments and monitor take-off estimators.Know insurance and bonding requirements, complete financial worksheet.Review risks and selected subcontractors suppliers with VP of Estimating.Close out bid with Chief Estimator and submit bid.Prepare procurement strategy along with subcontracts and purchase orders.What you'll need to succeedBS in Civil Engineering or related subject..8+ years experience in heavy civil construction working for a general contractorExperience bidding on public sector projects in the NYC and 5 boroughs.Fluent with HCSS Heavy BidExcellent written and verbal skillsWhat you'll get in returnBase Salary between $180k - $250k (Depending on experience)Vehicle Travel allowance15 days starting PTO plus public holidaysAnnual bonus401k Pension planHybrid working - 1 day work from home initially which can be increased with line manager approval.What you need to do nowIf this role is of interest please apply with your updated resume and we will be in touch with further details as soon as possible.
