Job TitleClaims Associate (Full Time)Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Claims Associate to support the operations of the Claims Department and company. This role is in-office, client facing and requires professional interaction with members (insureds), potential insureds, brokers, agents, Integris Group employees, senior management, and Board of Directors. The Claims Associate will be expected to manage a case load of incident and low severity files as well as to assist Senior Claims Representatives with their assigned responsibilities. This position reports directly to the Director of Claims in our Glastonbury, CT home office. ResponsibilitiesClaim Handling·        Handling the investigation of incident files, and low-severity caseload from inception to resolution·        Determine policy information, including coverage, for losses·        Coordinating on the selection of defense counsel·        Coordinating the initial consultation with the insured and defense counsel·        Assisting in the retention of defense medical experts·        Reviewing and organizing medical records and chronologies ·        Case management including ongoing communication with the insured and defense counsel, monitoring of legal status reporting, and reviewing billing practices·        Internal reporting and documentation of claim developments·        Formulating and executing claim resolution plans·        Direct handling of settlement negotiations with plaintiffs or counsel·        Demonstrate a commitment to learning and complete all educational requirements·        Exhibit strong communication skills and service excellence in client response timeAdministrative ·        Assisting in file and document management ·        Assisting in follow-up, maintenance, and closure of incident files·        Assisting in preparation of correspondence to our members·        Assisting in efforts to compile, analyze, and prepare claim data for presentation to the Claim Committee and Board  Support of Company Operations·        Periodic attendance at company functions including Loss Prevention and Business Development events·        Providing feedback on and supporting implementation of corporate initiatives and IT projects·        Informing Underwriting Department of claim developments with potential underwriting implicationsQualifications and Skills·        Associates or Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree·        1-3 years of experience in insurance claim handling or relevant legal experience ·        Understanding of insurance information systems preferred·        Competent at using MS Office suite of products·        Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.·        Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.·        Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task.·        Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsCareer AdvancementAs the incumbent proves that they excel at the assigned responsibilities, they may be assigned additional, more complex tasks. These more complex tasks can lead to new roles and advancement throughout Integris Group. LocationThe position requires attendance in the Glastonbury, CT office, Monday-Friday. BenefitsAs leaders in the healthcare industry, we're passionate about the health and well-being of our employees.
