This person will develop story ideas including trend features, breaking news, scoops, and list articles about the company's facilitating commerce, like Amazon, Temu, and TikTok Shop, as well as the burgeoning retail media sellers, like Walmart, Albertsons, Best Buy, and others. This deputy editor should also be familiar with the influencer ecosystem, and how it is being used to drive buying behaviors. This person will be tasked with writing their own articles and overseeing the coverage of at least one other reporter. Because of this dual role, the right candidate will already have a lot of knowledge in this space and key contacts, so they should be able to hit the ground running without much training. They should be highly familiar with the ins and outs of online commerce and know how retail media works as well as its biggest opportunities and challenges ahead. This person will also appear on panels in conferences, host fireside chats, speak on podcasts, and help program ADWEEK's conferences. The deputy editor of retail media and commerce reports to the Editor-in-Chief.Please note that, this role is a hybrid role that is based on ADWEEK's NYC Office. SPECIFICALLY, YOUR IMPACT WILL BE BASED ON:features, news articles, and scoops focused on retail media and commerce.relationships with agencies, executives, and analysts in this sector of advertising.at least one reporter, and overseeing their coverage.contributing to ADWEEK magazine.to program ADWEEK's conferences.deadlines, meeting deadlines, and both producing and editing clean copy.WHAT WILL SET YOU APART:least 5 years of reporting experience.of commerce and retail media.strong source list of the major players in this area.large portfolio of clips that show expertise in this sector.writing and critical thinking skillsskills, panel moderation and public speakingCOMPENSATION:Details: $77,000-$120,000salary range represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on several factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and location.
