As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a key role in supporting our HR department and ensuring the smooth operation of various HR functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, has strong organizational skills, and is passionate about providing exceptional HR support.SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, the Human Resource Generalist will participate in the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including administration of all leave items related to FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD and Sick Leave programs. The position serves as the subject matter expert for the leave programs and is responsible for program compliance, enforcing company policies and practices.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, and terprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws.Advises, counsels, and educates employees on leave policies, procedures, and programs. ï‚· Informs employees of eligibility status.Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are effectively executed.Manages all administrative aspects of leave claims and works closely with Payroll and department to ensure that leave processing is accurate.Responsible for the entering and updating of records to determine leave accruals, and forecasting eligibility for past, current and future leave events.Coordinates and arranges benefit premium payments for individuals that will be on leave without pay.Produces and manages reporting metrics and analytics for all leave programs.Provides reports as requested.Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.Must comply with all HIPAA rules regarding authorized use, training, storage and destruction of PHI.Researches and remains aware of changes of applicable laws (i.e.: FMLA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.).Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.Performs other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.REQUIRED SKILLSABILITIES Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS system.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required, from four-year college or university, three to five years related experience andor training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.SHRM-CP, SPHR, PHR, a plus.Business acumen is a must.Advanced computer skills including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and HRIS
