Electrical R&D TechnicianMy client is a leader in revolutionizing defense autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations for the Department of Defense (DoD) through autonomous and intelligent platforms. Job Overview We are seeking an Electrical R&D Technician to evaluate, assemble, and maintain electrical systems for our fast-paced R&D team. As an Electrical R&D Technician, you should be able to read electrical system design plans and recommend improvements, as well as calibrate instruments and diagnose faulty equipment. Responsibilities •Assembling, evaluating, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, PCBs, and wire harnesses •Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, wiring, and PCBs •Constructing and fabricating parts, using hand tools and specifications •Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics •Ordering of electrical supplies and equipment •Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment •Capable of providing direct feedback to the engineering team •Contributes to team effort by reliably accomplishing all related tasks as needed, and always keeping an eye out for new ways to support the team •Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments •Repairs and maintains electrical systems and minor mechanical systems •Plans electrical system additions or modifications •Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices Qualifications •Minimum High School diploma •At least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified •Understanding of electrical distribution systems •Ability to read blueprints, schematics and other electrical diagrams •Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment and appliances •Able to lift 50 lbs •Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers •Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures •Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position •Project planning, schedule and cost estimation •Strong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operations •Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
