Job Title: Compliance Officer - Private Equity RenewablesLocation: New York or BostonJob Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Officer to join our team and oversee all compliance-related matters within our private equity renewables investment portfolio. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that our operations and investments adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.Responsibilities:Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments to assess compliance risks associated with regulatory requirements, permits, and licenses in the renewable energy sector.Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures tailored to the unique risks and regulatory landscape of renewable energy investments.Provide compliance guidance and support to investment teams throughout the deal lifecycle, from due diligence to post-investment monitoring and exit strategies.Monitor business activities and conduct audits to detect and address compliance issues proactively.Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports as required by relevant authorities, and maintain comprehensive documentation of compliance efforts.Collaborate with other departments, such as legal, finance, and risk management, to identify and mitigate compliance risks associated with investments and operations.Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and external legal counsel to stay informed about regulatory developments and best practices.Provide training and educational resources to employees to ensure awareness and understanding of compliance obligations and best practices.Promote a culture of ethics and integrity within the organization by enforcing codes of conduct and encouraging whistleblowing mechanisms.Stay abreast of regulations specific to the renewable energy sector, such as environmental laws, tax incentives, and energy market regulations.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or certification in Compliance or relevant field is preferred.Proven experience (X years) working in compliance roles within the financial services industry, preferably with a focus on private equity investments in renewable -depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices related to renewable energy investments, including environmental laws, tax incentives, and energy market regulations.Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough due diligence and risk assessments.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management software is desirable.
