Apella Wealth is seeking a highly engaged and organized individual to provide hands-on participation in the technology direction for the organization, which includes a central office and seventeen sites. Initially, this role will partner with our internal Tech Strategist to help design a new organizational network, given the relocation our central office. The right candidate will also provide hands-on implementation andor coordination of external tech partners.This Systems Admin Lead should have exceptional technology project skills that allow them to work both autonomously and with team members in an organized fashion that allows the implementation of clearly planned, documented, and tracked projects. As needed, this position may collaborate with the compliance team to safeguard organizational and client information that is critical to our business, which is governed by the SEC and FINRA. Every facet of this role will consider cyber implications to ensure the most secured approach to tech implementations.This opportunity will also provide either hands-on or outsourced coordination of software and licensing, servers, firewalls, Azure 365, Desktop integrations and configurations, remote site connectivity, and support. The Systems Admin Lead utilizes advanced technical knowledge to plan and lead the implementation of technical solutions, working with our Tech Strategist. They will provide technical insight and support to design the organizational infrastructure and resolve problems of a comprehensive and complex nature. They also may assist usersdepartments in formulating requests or proposals and in determining information system needs assessments, then work with vendors and internal management to provide cost-effective recommendations. For the right candidate, who has strong listening and learning skills, this position will provide a unique opportunity to take your technology career to the next level!Duties & Responsibilities (autonomous or partnered with an outsourced provider):Partner with Tech Strategist to design Apella Wealth infrastructure for new central office. This infrastructure project will consider current environment and target environment; providing technical input for working with the Tech Strategist to jointly develop a project plan that depicts the full strategy and is completed with minimal disruptions and maximum security. Some project considerations will include: M365 Azure migration to a non-hybrid environment, on-prem vs cloud-based firewall solution, firewall re-configurations for 17 remote sites, on-prem to SharePoint data migration, cyber considerations, and software licensing requirements.Perform complex problem solving and assistance on diverse software applications and hardware systems for departments or the organization holistically.Contribute to overall architecture and infrastructure, especially as it relates to availability, scalability, security, performance; perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.Serve as a primary project member on technology projects; may lead and integrate the work of other staff, as it relates to a specific project or implementation as agreed upon with the Tech Strategist.Oversee, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts for both the on-prem and cloud-based environments, including proactive measures.Participate in andor lead the review, evaluation and recommendation of technology initiatives and solutions relating to hardware, software, and services as approved by management or Tech Strategist.Perform diverse technical assistance (Level 2 and Level 3), documents findings through ticketing system, and perform maintenance duties that may encompass a variety of user support needs.Perform on-boarding and decommissioning of user devices, ensuring standard procedures are always up to date.Establish working relationships with primary tech vendors, coordinating and negotiating purchases for software, hardware, licensing, and ongoing maintenance contracts.Identify potential security risks and propose practical mitigation measures. This includes direct collaboration with both internal compliance and external Cyber Security providers to ensure all systems are safe, and backup and recovery systems are functional.Create, maintain, update and document technology plans and procedures, such as technology implementation plans, technology inventory, technician procedures, cyber procedures, and user "˜how-to' procedures.Maintain current knowledge with respect to technology, equipment, applicable laws, regulations, standards andor systems.Provide in-depth individual andor group instruction and training on new systems or software as needed.Minimum Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree in systems administration or related technology fieldMinimum of 3 years related IT experience with specific knowledge in:O365 Admin experience for enterprise licensing for hybrid environment that includes Exchange, Teams, Sharepoint, and AzureFamiliarity with AWS environmentMicrosoft Azure 365Microsoft Azure MDM and conditional access policiesVMWare and Windows 2016 Azure ServerFortigate OS config experience preferredWindows DNS, DHCP, Exchange365File storage solutions, encryption practices and secured email.Domain registration and SSL certificate implementation experienceMacOS and Windows 10 desktop OSAvailability to work a hybrid schedule (2-3 daysweek onsite), as well as limited weekendevening support as needed
