This position would be primarily remote; thus the candidate could live anywhere within the United States.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The successful candidate will be capable of performing in a lead role to guide a project team through the implementation of various protection and control relaying design schemes on high voltage (4kV - 500kV) substation projects for utilities clients. The candidate would also lead the creation of engineering deliverables including bill of materials, SCADA and telecommunication drawings, relay panel arrangement drawings, single line, three lines, AC and DC schematics, equipment wiring diagrams, relay panel wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, calculation of relay settings, and relay coordination studies.In this role, it would be expected that the candidate plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates work requiring judgment in the independent execution of complex engineering tasks, manages assigned budgets, schedules, and quality requirements. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. The selected individual may be asked to participate in the identification and hiring of newer, less experienced engineers and would also be asked to play a prominent role in their training / guidance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical EngineeringProfessional Engineering licensure (strongly preferred)At least 5+ years of experience in field of protective relay or substation physical design.Ability to lead a team of up to seven individuals, and assist in the interviewing/ selection process as needed. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.Ability to apply client specifications and preferences to all designs.Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.Strong focus on quality.Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budget and time constraintsExcellent oral and written communication skills.High attention to detail is required.Ability to work independently as well as a strong team player.
