As Food Safety and Quality Manager, you will play a critical role in the development of processes that will drive product consistency, quality, and food safety. Job Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and manage quality control programsConduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with production and R&D teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, particularly those involving frying technologiesImplement corrective and preventive actions to enhance product quality and consistencyWork closely with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for raw materials and ingredients used in snack productionConduct supplier audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with quality specificationsWork closely with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for raw materials and ingredients used in snack productionGather, organize, store, and keep all documents required for our food safety and quality programs updatedLead our annual and bi-annual food safety validation proceduresEnsure compliance with record keeping and document control procedures on the production floorPeriodically review our food safety program to ensure it complies with all USDA, State and Local Laws customer requirementsConduct unannounced audits and mock recallsImprove the food safety and quality programs through ongoing analysis of our production equipment, process, procedures, and teamReview quality reports and conduct root cause analysis on deviationsCreate a culture that recognizes the importance of food safety and qualityLead the defense programSpend 50% of the day on the floor making certain that all food safety protocols are being metRequired Skills/Qualifications: MUST HAVE 5-7 years' experience in food manufacturing with Food Safety/QualityExperience with oil, salt & fat analysis, texture and taste analysis experience is helpfulBachelor's Degree in food science/food engineering or related field is preferredStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve quality issuesFamiliarity with regulatory requirements - HACCP, USDA, BRCGS, and other relevant standardsPCQI, HACCP Certified a plusInternal auditing experience preferredStrong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse teamExpectational organizational and project management skillsAbility to travel 5% of the time.
