Senior Stores PersonAbout youThe Senior Stores Person will be responsible for ensuring safe & efficient daily operations of the store and loading dock area. This includes, but is not limited to, activities such as loading and unloading deliveries, monitoring of waste and gas supplies, inventory management, purchasing, customer service, assisting in transit of goods to research floors, deputizing as manager when required, general warehousing duties & mentoring the team as required.The roleReporting to the Precinct Stores and Loading Dock Manager they will also work closely with Precinct Partners, Facilities Engineering, Work Health Safety & Finance teams.In particular the Senior Stores Person will:Handle all incoming and outgoing goods for the St Vincent''s Sydney Health Innovation Precinct (SVSHIP)Provide hands-on support to all aspects of day-to-day operationsEnsure continuous provision of essential Precinct services, such as gas supply and waste management.Communicate extensively with internal and external stakeholders, fostering mutually beneficial relationships.What we will trust you withSupervise and inspect unloading, unpacking, quality control, and storage of materials.Ensure accurate processing of orders, shipments, returns, and dispatches electronically.Assist the Manager with daily warehouse functions (pick, pack, goods receiving, dispatching), customer enquiries and end-to-end order fulfillment.Maintain accurate inventory through stock takes, rotation, and quality control.Maintain an organized, safe, and clean working area with a focus on continuous improvement.Conduct regular inspections to ensure functionality and adherence to standards.Ensure equipment & plant safety through frequent checks & scheduled maintenance.Maintain accurate supplier pricing and resolve discrepancies, assisting with invoice reconciliation.Manage procurement systems, including new product setup and timely purchasing.Support staff in providing excellent customer service & query resolution to internal & external colleagues & customers.Does this sound like you?EssentialA strong knowledge and understanding of warehousing principles.A solid understanding of inventory systems.Proficiency in the use of Microsoft 365 applications.Excellent organizational and time management skills.A proven ability to work in a face-to-face team environment & provide mentorship/guidance.Have strong communication skills, fluent written and verbal English.Experience in providing high quality customer services.DesirablePrevious experience in providing high quality service to multiple organizations, preferably in a medical research or university environment.Knowledge of reticulated gases and medical waste streams.General interest in medical research.Experience in the use of Forklift or Walkie Stacker operations.About usThe Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute (the Institute) is dedicated to finding cures for cardiovascular disease and is one of the most respected heart research facilities in the world.
