You will join a team building custom software to create a magical support experience. You will identify and lead engineering projects where Machine Learning can have an outsized impact. The projects you lead will typically involve several other engineers.As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for mentoring and leadership within the team, particularly in building capacity with other engineers. You will partner closely with other teams and crafts to deliver projects and enhance your communication skills.This role will require strong software engineering skills and presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to drive the adoption of Machine Learning to solve operational and technical problems.Your typical responsibilities will include:Identify where AI and ML solutions can be introduced to drive a better support experience.Mentor other engineers to build their skills with ML.Assist in vendor selection and configuration for AI-enabled tools such as copilots.Work on customizing LLM models that will impact millions of customers every month.Stay on top of the rapidly evolving state-of-the-art within Natural Language Generation space.Study best practices, develop new approaches, and work on prototypes while evaluating their performance.Customize and fine-tune LLMs using open-source models such as LLama, Falcon, etc.You''re probably a match if:You have demonstrated experience in identifying where AI can be introduced to solve business problems and driving projects to completion.You have extensive experience in applying Machine Learning on large-scale systems.You have an excellent sense of ownership and like to take the initiative to suggest and develop novel solutions to challenging problems proactively.You are an exceptional communicator and team player, eager to work with your colleagues to brainstorm ideas and willing to jump in and find solutions.You have a solid understanding of NLP, especially the concepts of Large Language Models, Prompt Engineering, and Fine Tuning (ideal).Proficiency with the following technologies is desirable: Deep Learning Frameworks such as PyTorch and Tensorflow, Python 3, Numpy, Langchain.You have a solid understanding of modern software engineering principles.You can communicate complex concepts to a non-technical audience and get them excited about embracing AI to improve their work.About the teamGlobal User Voice Enablement is the group that empowers our support specialists, with a mission to delight users in every interaction with Canva, by empowering every specialist.
