Our services span from initial planning and investment, through start-up and operations.Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.Bechtel has been engaged to undertake a Feasibility Study through to EPCM construction and commissioning by one of our key clients. This Project involves greenfields and brownfields developments including earthworks through challenging terrain, construction of new crushing facilities and transmission line installations.Job Summary:In this role, you will be responsible for delivery of the project SMPE&I scope technical aspects, coordinating the efforts across multiple functions including engineering, procurement, project controls, contracts and construction. You will assist with preparing estimates. You will ensure procurement and contracting strategies are in place and followed, and produce and manage all technical aspects of major contract packages, including preparation of scopes of works, pricing sheets, methods of measure and technical bid evaluations.Major Responsibilities:Establishes or assists in establishing the detailed project execution plan and the development of the project SMPE&I scope, budget and schedule.Responsible for scope management across all project SMPE&I scope, including change management.Responsible person for all technical aspects of major SMPE&I related contract packages, including development of scope of works and pricing sheets and managing and coordinating the technical evaluation of bids.Responsible for SMPE&I jobhour / schedule / quantity performance across all functions. Reviews project engineering progress against approved schedules, evaluates changes and takes corrective action when required.Reviews and consolidates comments on design documents for major contracts, change orders, and material requisitions for construction or procurement use.Ensures that Technical Risk Assessments are comprehensive and complete, safety practices and procedures are implemented, and engineering design and corresponding design documentation are in compliance with project Quality Assurance plan and procedures.Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to client, project and functional management as directed and as appropriate.Actively supports value engineering and lean delivery across the entire SMPE&I scope.Other duties as assignedEducation and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor''s degree (or international equivalent) and over 15 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Technical knowledge of related engineering systems, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials, and engineering application of computers.Proficient knowledge of project engineering processes and procedures.Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved and current knowledge of new methods of design and construction. Experience in material handling systems for Iron Ore will be preferred.Proficient knowledge on planning, application and coordination of 2-D and/or 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design processes on a project.Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the particular discipline.Skill in oral and written communication.Demonstrated skill in supervision.Senior project engineer with in-depth knowledge of SMP and E&I scopes delivery. Experience with materials handling system would be required. Management of more junior PEs may be required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
