Working closely with the Master and Chief Mate, youll be part of a dedicated team that contributes to the ships maintenance and safety protocols.As a Third Officer, youll make a positive impact by:Managing navigation watches and monitoring the vessels passage planTesting and maintaining life-saving and firefighting equipmentOverseeing cargo operations and coordinating with shore teamsSupporting training and induction for new crew membersEnsuring compliance with Sercos Safety Management System (SMS)Participating in safety drills and emergency response activitiesSerco is a place for youTo be successful in this role, youll have:Current PassportAMSA Certificate of Medical FitnessAMSA-issued Watchkeeper Deck (Unrestricted) CertificateGMDSS General Operators Certificate (GOC)Security Awareness TrainingAdvanced Firefighting (AFF) and proficiency in survival craftExperience in polar, scientific, or resupply vessel operationsAbility to use ship operating IT systems and draft documentsAbility to pass a Polar MedicalThis is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment as an essential selection component for this role.
