Looking for an exciting new challenge?Yara are seeking applications for their permanent role of Logistics and Materials Handling Technician.Reporting to the Senior Logistics and Materials Handling Technician, the Logistics and Materials Handling Technician is responsible for overseeing the materials handling and logistics operations and shall work with external logistics providers and Orica Mining Services Pilbara to ensure trucks are received and dispatched in a safe and timely manner.Primary ResponsibilitiesParticipate in materials handling and logistics operations of Ammonium Nitrate, bagging, bulk, containerised and ANSol consignments.Operate Integrated Tool Carriers, Forklifts, Conveyors and other bulk handling equipment.Assist the Logistics and Materials Handling Superintendent in the development, review and implementation of area specific policies and procedures.Communicate plant, process and equipment issues to the Logistics and Materials Handling Superintendent.Conduct daily and weekly prestart and Tactical Implementation Plan meetings.Assist in writing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.Monthly follow up of Production departments lead Key Performance Indicators.Actively participate and drive the Yara Productivity System (YPS) in the Ammonium Nitrate Bulk, Container, Bagging, and ANSol loading Areas.Administrative tasks, including but not limited to purchasing, SAP activities, site access requests, Material Movement Permits, and consignment documentation.Assist in the investigation and take corrective actions to address production losses, trips and incidents.Support the Logistics and Materials Handling Superintendent in recruiting contractor Bagging Operations staff.Provide training to the Bagging Operators.Ensure operational readiness of Plant and Equipment.Conduct Logistic and Materials Handling area plant start-ups and shutdown.Report product quality issues to the Logistics and Materials Handling Superintendent, Production Coordinator and Shift Superintendents.Cooperate and work with Engineers to resolve complex problems.Drive and implement cost saving strategies across the department.Join us at Yara - click Apply to submit your application.Additional InformationYara celebrates diversity in all operations, practices, and engagement. Apply no later than May 15, 2025.Minimum RequirementsCertificates; III in Logistics, III in Business and/or III in Process Plant / ESI / RII are highly desirable.Integrated Tool Carrier operations Ticket, EWP Ticket, Forklift Ticket.Work at Heights Certificate, Confined Space Entry Ticket, Gas Testing Ticket.Dogging or Rigging Basic is preferred.Minimum two years experience in a similar role, or Operations role within the Mining, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical/manufacturing industry.Major Hazard Facility and Dangerous Goods experience is highly desirable.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.Proficiency in SAP.Fluent English (verbal and written) is essential.Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
