Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.About the Role:This exciting and dynamic position plays a leading role in the delivery of care to patients in the Emergency Department (including Short Stay Unit, and Emergency Observation Unit) as well as other acute wards at The Northern Hospital Epping on a Saturday. The physiotherapist will enjoy a fast-paced and collaborative experience working within a dynamic team.The hours sought are 6 to 8 hour shifts, either weekly or fortnightly on Saturdays. This is an ongoing part-time role, 16 hours per fortnight.The overall responsibilities of the position include:Clinical expertise in a range of conditions managed in Emergency Services, including musculoskeletal, neurological/vestibular conditions and general mobility and medical.Safe, effective and independent management of a clinical caseload within the:Emergency Department, Short Stay and Emergency Observation Units as well as other acute wards.Ability to assess complex presentations and appropriately implement patient-centered interventions including ongoing referrals to community-based programs.Supervision of junior staff and allied health assistants.Consultation and collaboration with other health professionals to provide integrated care.Commitment to health promotion and health independence.Active participation and contribution with operational requirements, planning, quality improvement and staff performance/development.Willingness to enhance service delivery and develop innovative strategies to improve clinical care.To be successful in this role you will have:Experience in physiotherapy assessment and management of a broad variety of conditions managed in Emergency Services and the acute setting including musculoskeletal, neurological, medical, surgical and vestibular conditions.Ability to assess complex patient presentations including those in the Emergency department and facilitate safe discharge including referral to community-based programs.Ability to assess and treat patients presenting with vestibular conditions and facilitate safe discharge including referral to community-based programs.Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.Proven capacity to successfully work as part of a multidisciplinary team.Experience working in an acute hospital including Emergency Services.Next Steps . .If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, then we would love to hear from you.
