Medical Oncology Phase 1 Early Drug Development and Lower GI FellowDate published: Apr 17, 2025, 16:00 PMLocation: Melbourne, VICDescriptionThe Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, a globally recognised leader in cancer care and drug development, as well as Australias largest Phase 1 trials unit and Victorias only peritoneal centre, invites applications for a joint Phase 1 Early Drug Development and Lower GI Fellow position. This highly mentored role, embedded within the Phase 1/Early Drug Development and Lower GI Program, is tailored for Advanced Trainees completing or recently completed their FRACP, offering a unique blend of clinical trial expertise and specialised Lower GI cancer care.Responsibilities:Provide high-quality care to patients enrolled in early-phase clinical trials, with a focus on innovative therapies.Attendance to selected outpatient clinics and clinics in Day Ward.Completes all patient related documentation according to the Centre''s needs.Participates in after-hour and weekend cover roster for medical oncology.Liaises and communicates with the multidisciplinary treating team.Contributes to team meetings and educational activities.Actively and regularly participates in peer review patient related activities.Participates in departmental research projects and audits.Works effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.Close liaison with specialist members of the medical oncology Unit.Follows hospital policies and procedures.Minimum Requirements:Medical Qualifications registerable by the Medical Board of Victoria.Completed at least two core years of registrar level of training in medical oncology.Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting.Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical staff and other disciplines.Previous clinical trial experience an advantage.We acknowledge and pay respect to the Traditional Custodians and Elders past, present and emerging of the lands and waters on which RACP members and staff live, learn and work.
