You''ve been looking for an opportunity to influence policies, initiatives, and projects that can improve the lives of millions of people.In this role, you''ll:Work as part of the senior leadership team independently providing legal advice to the Chief Investigator.Support the functions of the Chief Investigator by providing accurate and timely legal advice and counsel across a broad range of matters.Use your expertise across a wide range of legal practice areas including corporate governance, commercial, contracts, liability, regulatory, administrative, privacy, employment and criminal law.Navigate a wide range of tasks working as a trusted advisor and guiding a small highly respected investigative organisation to ensure adherence to best practice in all legal matters in a high workload environment with tight deadlines.Your ability to work independently to provide high-quality legal advice formed across a career in a regulatory/government environment will see you involved in providing advice in a variety of areas including corporate governance, compliance, contract and statutory interpretation, the drafting of complex legal documents, undertaking dispute resolution and reviewing legislative reform proposals and policies.You will contribute to the capability development across the agency to drive awareness of regulatory obligations and legal risk mitigation.You''re recognised as a proactive legal professional who enjoys new challenges and a variety of work, a skilled communicator, with the capacity to quickly absorb information, analyse, understand and provide definitive advice in a timely manner.Your previous skills and experience gained in a government agency or regulatory body where you have had exposure to the areas of law previously mentioned along with your willingness to work independently, your project management skills and the ability to juggle a variety of tasks are essential to your success in this role.You will be able to build and develop your skills and knowledge as you will be exposed to and have influence over issues at the highest level of an organisation.Who we are:The Office of Transport Safety Investigations (OTSI) is the independent no-blame transport safety investigator for NSW.
