Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer AERO BOP (m/f)Location: Melbourne, AustraliaJob Summary:The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) AERO BOP plays a pivotal role in ensuring supplier quality across the complete lifecycle of sourced equipment and components for Aero Balance of Plant (BoP) projects. This includes activities from supplier selection and qualification to final inspection and release, ensuring full compliance with GE technical specifications and quality standards. The SQE collaborates closely with Engineering, Procurement, Sourcing, and Project teams across multiple project types including New Units, Services, and Modifications, Spare Parts, and Decommissioning (MSD & BoP).Key Responsibilities:Supplier Management & QualificationLead supplier onboarding and qualification efforts including capability audits, special process validation, and first piece qualifications.Support technical assessments and QMS evaluations.Maintain supplier documentation and qualification records in databases.Collaborate in Core Supplier Management Teams to ensure alignment on roadmap and milestones.Supplier Development & PerformanceFacilitate pre-award meetings, performance reviews, and quarterly supplier quality reviews.Drive continuous improvement plans and initiate development actions with underperforming suppliers.Contribute to Supplier Performance Ratings (Score Cards) and update qualifications accordingly.Project Engagement & DocumentationConduct Purchase Order Kick-off Meetings, design reviews, and inspection planning with Engineering and Sourcing teams.Prepare and validate quality-related documents: QCP, ITPL, testing procedures, etc.Ensure readiness with surveillance strategies and proper documentation.Inspection & Compliance AssuranceDevelop and execute risk-based audit strategies.Perform surveillance inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and validate compliance to contract requirements.Review and distribute inspection reports in a timely manner.Shipment Release & Deviation ManagementEnsure deviations are resolved, and End of Manufacturing Reports are reviewed.Approve material for shipment post compliance verification.Root Cause Analysis & Corrective ActionsLead and follow up on RCAs/RCIs, verify effectiveness of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).Support resolution of non-conformities, field complaints, and punch list items.Engage in vendor recovery and CoPQ tracking.Auditing & Supplier Quality ProgramsConduct Holistic Process Audits, support FMEA development, and oversee DSQR program implementation.Facilitate technical advisor site support and collect lessons learned for future improvements.Monitoring & ReportingManage supplier quality KPIs through daily dashboard reviews and updates.Prevent backlog buildup and avoid threshold breaches through proactive tracking.Required Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering (or related technical field).Minimum 5 years of experience in quality, supply chain, or project management, ideally in the power generation industry.Deep understanding of technical drawings, manufacturing processes, and standards.Proven hands-on experience with electrical commodities: LV/MV Switchgear, Panels, Transformers, UATs, Cables, etc.Excellent English communication skills (written & verbal).Strong safety, compliance, and quality mindset.Solid knowledge of root cause analysis, risk assessment, and manufacturing controls.Comfortable working in global team settings, with flexibility for time zone shifts and up to 70% travel.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with mechanical commodities is a plus.Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools (certification is a bonus).ISO Lead Auditor certification (or GE Vernova internal equivalent).Project management capabilities and strong stakeholder engagement skills.Experience in executive-level reporting, customer interactions, and cross-cultural communication. #J-18808-Ljbffr
