CYAAA (Cape York Australian Aboriginal Academy) is seeking applications for 2 x part-time School Community Partnership Officers (Identified).These positions will make up 1.0 Full-Time-Equivalent, with hours to be negotiated by each of the successful applicants. Both positions are located in the Hopevale Community.As the SCPO, you''ll play a key role in strengthening connections between the school, families, and the wider community. Our vision is to deliver "best of both worlds" educational opportunities to our students, supporting their bicultural identity while preparing them for future success.About The RoleThe primary focus of this position is to establish connections with community representatives, fostering collaboration for co-design initiatives between the school and its community. It will support the Department of Education''s Equity and Excellence Strategy through the Partnership Initiative project piloting the delivery of tailored and differentiated support to 42 regional, rural and remote Queensland schools.The objective of the initiative is to enable schools to collaborate with community partners and government agencies to deliver locally responsive and integrated strategies.Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited ToManage key relationships to enhance planning and service delivery processes.With the school leader, influence a place-based approach in your school and community by collaborating with key partners and across government agencies to deliver locally responsive and integrated strategies to school and community challenges.Proven ability to prioritise, schedule and perform work to meet deadlines, commitments and client service standards.Ability to participate in a work team and to undertake a variety of project activities.Mandatory Requirements for an Identified Role:It is a genuine occupational requirement for Identified roles that the position be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1991 for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act.Verification of Aboriginality and/or Torres Strait Island heritageFor administrative purposes, in relation to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified role, an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a person who identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is either:of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;accepted as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community in which he or she lives.By definition, a person who is not an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cannot be employed (on any basis) to perform the duties of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified role.Applicants to this position may have to provide confirmation of their Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.
