Cross-functional collaboration helps us build out Thales capabilities in a robust way and helps us open up new career opportunities for employees all across the business.Located in our Melbourne office at the World Trade Centre on Wurundjeri land or working from our Sydney HQ, Sydney Olympic Park, on Wann-gal land, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in health, safety, and environment (HSE) management.You will play a key role in leading the HSE risk and assurance programs across Thales, helping to ensure identification and effective management of HSE-related hazards and risks, a risk-based approach to assurance is embedded, and collaborating closely with various business lines to develop and monitor effective risk reduction strategies and improvement actions.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain the HSE risk management framework, and safety assurance programCoordinate the analysis and reporting of risk and assurance information, ensuring clear communication of resultsDrive continuous improvement of HSE risk management systems and processesManage the risk and assurance review schedule to ensure compliance with regulationsFacilitate risk assessments and advise on risk exposures, control measures, and their effectivenessMonitor compliance deficiencies and data trends, creating reporting systems to track issues and action plansCollaborate with Operations and HSE teams for effective risk and 1st and 2nd line assurance programs and processesAdminister safety and risk management systems and licensed softwareEngage and manage stakeholders effectivelyOn day one in this role, we''ll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:Solid experience in safety, risk management, or operations within industrial processing plants, heavy industry, or defence environmentsMust have a solid understanding of risk management and assurance principles and frameworksStrong analytical mindset and a hands-on approach with a strong desire to understand operations within individual business lines is essentialStrong influencing skills to engage multiple stakeholders across all organisational levels, from frontline personnel to senior leaders with the ability to drive positive outcomesExperienced in facilitating a variety of risk assessment methodologies, including Risk Assessment, HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEALead Auditor qualificationProficient in statistical data analysis and common software packagesA minimum of a bachelors degree in engineering, safety, or a related field; advanced degrees and extensive industrial experience will also be considered.Ability to obtain Australian Defence ClearancesAs part of our commitment, we offer:Competitive remuneration + Super + Bonus + Medical InsuranceThalesFlex Hybrid work environmentRecognised leader in reservist employee supportVeterans LeaveFitness Passport Discount Access to a network of Gyms across AUSEmployee discounts with a number of affiliates (Travel, Car hire, Tech, Medical Insurance)Modernised Paid Parental LeaveNovated Lease optionsFamily support through our partnership with Parents at WorkPersonal & professional training development opportunitiesSonder Wellbeing & Support PartnerAccess to a network of the best people (A Nobel Prize winner on our staff list!)And much more!Good to KnowPrior to being offered employment, you will need to complete pre-employment police and (role dependent) medical checks.Its easy to dismiss the perfect opportunity if you dont see yourself as the perfect fit.
