This role is required to lead and manage contract carriers along with a small team of employees as well as providing tactical support to the Depot Manager to execute the delivery of the Operational Plan when required and as needed.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESMANAGEMENTEffective and efficient planning of daily deliveries and pickups, ensuring all deliverable freight is delivered to the receiver and pickup freight is collected and returned to the depot in full and on time.Efficient and accurate loading and dispatch of all out-bound freight within the PUD/Bulk fleet, maintaining appropriate load sizes.With a thorough knowledge of the internal scanning program, champions the scanning compliance and ensures drivers are compliant in their scanning. Escalating where necessary.Upholds the highest standards in safety, driver performance and vehicle presentation.Open communicator reporting any issues, concerns or discrepancies.Accurate and timely completion of all documentation and reports as required including daily stocktakes of PUD bays.Operate the computerized allocation and manifesting system as required.Minimises damage to freight with a strong focus on zero losses achieved through effective training and work practices.Actively champions and undertakes good housekeeping practices, with particular emphasis on driver and vehicle presentation.Develops a high-performance team culture across the shift and contributes to fostering strong employee relations across the broader operations group.Communicating and coordinating with internal teams to deliver solutions.Identifying opportunities for improvement and proposing new tools and processes.Supporting team members to improve their performance and reach targets; actively engages in the management of performance and/or conduct concerns and escalates as appropriate.Be an active team player displaying energy, enthusiasm and demonstrating XL values.LEADING PEOPLELeads by example and models company values and vision.Generates persuasive leadership around common goals to individuals and teams.Removes barriers that impede success and sources solutions.Motivates teams and drives performance outcomes.Supports people to gain experience and increase capability, mentors and coach''s individuals.Works with people and teams to set clear, specific, challenging yet achievable goals.Creates a vision and inspires others.Understands key internal and external stakeholders.Promotes a safety culture lead by example.
