Apply here today!Food Clerk-CashierPart Time HourlyPrimary ResponsibilitiesGreet, assist, and ring out all customers politelyProcess customer purchases quickly and accurately using an electronic cash register, scanner, and scaleClean register area by sweeping floors and cleaning check lanes, registers, and scalesPrevent loss of money and merchandise by careful product handling, completion of price checks, and accurate use of store procedures for the acceptance of coupons, WIC, and other vouchersEnsure safety by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazards immediatelyBag customer purchases quickly and correctlyUnderstand the operation, safety requirements, and restraints of an electronic cash register, scanner, scale, and intercom systemPerform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managersSUPERVISION RECEIVEDCashiers (food clerks) report directly to the Front-End Manager or Store Manager.QualificationsAbove and Beyond Customer ServiceBasic Mathematics (Add, subtract, multiply, divide)High School Diploma or EquivalentPrior Experience in related field or industrySpecific TasksStanding capability, 4 hours minimumMove a maximum of 40 lbs. from 6 inches to 48 inchesMove a maximum of 40 lbs. up to 15 feetPick up items from floor/case/shelf/cartRetrieve merchandise on the top of grocery shelves, approximately 84 inches from the floorBend and twist at the waist while cleaning, moving/removing merchandise, and loading/unloading merchandiseWork Environment NoteInside work with transitions of heat/cold/humidity/dust from opening of store entrance/exit doors.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the employees assigned to this job.
