Its mission is to support a sustainable sport and active recreation sector. Governed by a volunteer Board of Management, it coordinates programs across six local government regions: Campaspe, Central Goldfields, Greater Bendigo, Loddon, Macedon Ranges, and Mount Alexander. Funding is primarily through the Department of Health and Human Services for the "Together More Active" Program and VicHealth for the Regional Sport Partnership. As an evidence-based organisation, Sports Focus aims to deliver funded programs and support community sporting clubs'' development, focusing on areas of greatest community benefit.Primary Objectives:The Consultant''s role is to:Support the development and implementation of a sustainable ''Community Sport Partnerships'' program to enhance capacity and viability within the community sport sector.Develop and strengthen partnerships that contribute to the program''s success.Evaluate the program''s effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities, and achieve greater outcomes.Represent Sports Focus to enhance its reputation as the peak body for community sport in central Victoria.These outcomes should be achieved through a framework emphasizing sustainability, best practice, collaboration, and innovation.Qualifications/Experience:Experience understanding community sports clubs, volunteer reliance, and good governance principles is advantageous.Duties & Responsibilities:Your role involves supporting the sector''s capacity building through collaboration with the Sports Focus team and partners, fostering a safe, inclusive, and viable community sport environment. Key responsibilities include:Responding promptly to club requests and maintaining organisational policies.Managing information systems and keeping up-to-date with technological developments.Ensuring safety and supporting organisational growth and sustainability.Participating in planning, liaising with partners, and conducting community consultations.Developing resources, building partnerships, and advocating for the program.Coordinating education and capacity-building activities for volunteers.Contributing to digital communication efforts and content creation for social media platforms.Researching governance programs, developing resources, and engaging with the community sector.Reporting on program progress, monitoring outcomes, and participating in evaluations.Key Selection Criteria:Knowledge of community sport sector operations and challenges.Experience in community club governance roles.Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.Passion for community sport growth.Strong communication skills and rapport-building ability.Eligibility for a Working with Children Check.Further Information and Application:Contact Stuart Craig at Sports Focus at 5442 3101 or email admin@sportsfocus.com.au for more info.
