Utilise your experience to provide strategic expertise and advice on best practice learning strategies and work programs.Fixed Term, Full Time opportunity up to 2 years to work with a high-performing and passionate team.The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Director, Learning and Capability to provide a critical role within the Learning and Capability branch.About the Business UnitPeople, Safety, Culture and Communications'' core functions span the breadth of workplace culture and people matters, including human resources policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment, redeployment, and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; occupational health and safety management; and employment regulations.The Transformation, Development and Capability division is responsible for a diverse range of functions to support Groups and business units including in organisational design, change management, business planning and strategic workforce projects, learning and capability, workforce diversity, inclusion and intersectionality policy.About the RoleThe Director, Learning and Capability (L&C) is responsible for six broad areas of learning and capability activities in the Department:Justice Learning Team Corporate training, surveys and performance including Honorary Justice Support Services (HJSS) training support for the volunteer network of Justice of the Peace and Bail Justices;Registered Training Organisation (RTO) accredited training;Corrections Victoria Prisons L&D Corrections Victoria training and development;Youth Justice L&D training support for the youth justice custodial and community workforce;Nexus the department''s learning and performance system; andAboriginal Training Aboriginal training and capability uplift and advocacy.As the Director, Learning and Capability, some of your duties will include:Leading and developing contemporary learning and development strategies and strategic work programs that ensure the current and future capability needs of the Department are met. This involves assessing current competencies, identifying skill gaps, and forecasting future needs.Managing and leading teams of learning and development professionals to design, develop, and oversee the execution of training programs, including onboarding, technical skills training, leadership development, and compliance training.Integrating learning initiatives with performance management processes to ensure employees'' developmental needs are met. Establish metrics and KPIs and, where applicable, assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and manage risk.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the development and delivery (in various modalities) of learning solutions (including knowledge of various instructional design models and methodologies).Use and analysis of learning data to assess learning outcomes and effectiveness of learning and training programs, and familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to learning and development.Demonstrated knowledge and application of managing budgets against successful program delivery.Knowledge and experience of Industry Registered Training Organisations and National Qualifications.QualificationsAn appropriate tertiary qualification in Learning and Capability or related field is highly desirable.How to ApplyPlease click the Apply button on this advertisement.
