Our specialized, forward-looking expertise addresses the evolving challenges that earth, environment, and energy present to our clients and communities.What youll do:As a Principal Tunnel Design Engineer within our National Tunnels and Tunnel Systems team, you will be joining an award-winning Geotechnical and Tunnels division, leveraging more than 150 years of combined expert experience, and working in an environment where you are always encouraged to continue to learn and further grow your career.We are looking for an experienced Principal with underground construction design experience, who will not only be excited by a challenging role at a forward-thinking company but will also be thrilled by exciting opportunities to be part of projects that will continue to stimulate as you grow your career with us.A typical day for you would look like (but not be limited to):Providing technical design advice on complex tunneling issues to clients and internal staff while delivering best practice consulting services.Using advanced techniques, modifications, and extension of theories, practices to synthesize and analyze data for decision making/recommendations.Building a reputation as an expert Senior Design Consultant. Participate in industry groups as part of maintaining a high industry profile.Cultivating existing and new client relationships plus undertaking proactive business development activities.Keeping your finger on the pulse and being in the know of advancing technologies, methods, and research & development.Preparing tenders, proposals, and reports for clients.Mentoring and supporting our Tunnel Design Engineers of tomorrow.Guiding, participating, and supporting stakeholder engagement activities.About You:You can demonstrate your experience as a Tunnel Design engineer at Senior Engineer level (as a minimum) and possess a wealth of expert knowledge in Mined and TBM methods of construction.Hold tertiary qualifications in civil engineering.Be a Chartered Engineer or working towards being so.Possess a long, varied, and successful track record in undertaking and managing small to large size projects.Have a proven track record of promoting innovation in the field of Civil engineering to create value for clients/projects.Have demonstrated a high level of experience in the preparation/review of written technical reports and client communications at Senior level.Possess a strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.Have the ability to take responsibility for Tunnel design delivery in a multidisciplinary environment.In addition, you will bring the following skills and attributes:Natural connector.Problem solver with a powerful team spirit.Open.Curious.Passionate.Adaptable.Someone ready to do the kind of work the world needs.Imagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.Join our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact.
