In this hands-on role, youll work closely with frontline leaders and employeesproviding practical guidance, building strong relationships, and fostering a safe, supportive work environment. As a trusted advisor, youll help improve how teams manage wellbeing and safety, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and positive outcomes.This is a full-time role based in Victoria, with flexibility to work from our Spring Street Head Office or at one of our branches in Mulgrave or Ballarat.Your Key Responsibilities:Provide practical, day-to-day coaching and safety guidance to key stakeholders and frontline leadersSupport and educate leaders on incident triage, investigation, and identifying what went wrongFacilitate quality and safety discussions, risk assessments, and Safety Committee meetingsDeliver engaging and accessible safety advice, with a focus on learning and continuous improvementPartner with teams to build understanding of hazards and behavioural risks, including driver safety, manual handling, and working with vulnerable community membersGuide leaders in navigating complex behaviours such as aggression, verbal abuse, and dementiaLead safety initiatives in your allocated regionincluding reporting, trend analysis, and project coordinationHelp teams understand and implement wellbeing and safety procedures, with a focus on proactive solutions rather than reactive responsesPromote and support a positive safety culture through coaching, training, and change journeysContribute to reporting and improvement initiatives, including dashboards, audits, and internal safety programs like Safer MeWhat youll bring:A passion for employee wellbeing and safety, with a proactive and collaborative approachStrong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skillsthe ability to influence and build trusted relationshipsConfidence in managing competing priorities and working across multiple locationsExcellent communication, facilitation, and teamwork skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and comfortable navigating digital systemsA relevant qualification in Health & Safety or a related field is desirable but not essentialWillingness to learn and growwe welcome applications from graduates or those ready to step into a Business Partner role with support and developmentExperience in aged or community care is a bonus but not requiredWhy work for Australian Unity?Hybrid working enjoy the flexibility of three days in the office and remote workCompetitive salary package plus participation in our employee incentive programExtra leave benefits, including Wellbeing, Community, and Deep Listening days each yearFitness Passport discounted access to gyms and fitness facilities (NSW & VIC)Purchase additional leave buy up to 2 extra weeks of annual leave each yearExclusive employee discounts across Australian Unity products, travel, and accommodationNovated leasing salary package a new car through Maxxia and save on taxClickAPPLYor contact Caroline at cagray@australianunity.com.au for a confidential discussion.Australian Unity is an Equal Opportunity employer, and we encourage applications from all members of the community, including people of Aboriginal and Torres strait Islander descent, culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and, mature aged people.
