Join the supportive team at Latrobe Regional Health, where a world of opportunities awaits''.Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for a dedicated Provisional Rural Anaesthesia/Retrieval Medicine Fellow to join our team on a fixed term, full time, basis for a period of 12 months.Our Rural Anaesthesia/Retrieval Medicine Fellowship position provides the Fellow with a unique clinical experience and comprehensive transition to becoming a specialist in a supportive environment. There is exposure to a breadth of clinical anaesthesia experience at Latrobe Regional Health (LRH). LRH is a medium sized regional hospital, located 90 minutes east of Melbourne, partnered with an exciting opportunity to work with the Victorian State Adult Retrieval Service.Nine (9) months is spent with Latrobe Regional Health in the anaesthetic department which is partnered with The Alfred Hospital Department of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. During this time the Fellows can expect to gain experience in thoracic, paediatric, ENT, Vascular, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, anaesthesia for general, urological, orthopaedic and structural health procedures. The department has a keen interest in providing regional anaesthesia and perioperative care through pain services and pre-admission clinic where there is opportunity to learn perioperative focused transthoracic echocardiography. It is possible to accumulate a significant emergency and elective caseload, with the aim of providing independence with consultant floor coordination supervision. While at LRH, Fellows undertake on average once/fortnight on call, where they function as a junior consultant with lrh.com.au FANZCA remote supervision. There is an average of 86 hours/fortnight, which include on call and out of hours work.Three (3) months is spent with the Adult Retrieval Victoria (ARV) based as Essendon Airport in Melbourne, undergoing the Registrar Induction Program, followed by training and experience in clinical fixed wing, rotary wing, road retrieval and retrieval coordination. There is also an opportunity to gain pre-hospital retrieval experience.About youIdeal candidates for this role will have:Post ANZCA Fellowship exam, or sitting the Fellowship exam within the next twelve (12) months.
