We look forward to learning more about how your background, skills, and values align with the goals of Shepparton Foodshare.Key Selection CriteriaTertiary qualification in Senior Management or five years of experience in Executive Management, or extensive and diverse experience relative to an equivalent standard attained through previous appointments.Proven leadership experience in a not-for-profit or community services environment.Strong financial and operational management skills.Experience in staff supervision, training, and development.Knowledge of governance and compliance requirements in the non-profit sector.Strong community engagement and partnership-building capabilities.Experience managing growth and transition within an organisation.Experience in community-focused not-for-profit or emergency relief programs or similar initiative.Familiarity with funding and service agreements in the community health sector.Experience working with a Board of Directors.Experience working with volunteers.Knowledge of food supply chain methods and/or procurement would be highly advantageous.Purpose of the RoleShepparton Foodshare is experiencing significant growth to meet rising demand. A permanent Executive Officer is being sought to ensure the continuation of critical activities and drive development in key areas. This is an active leadership position responsible for executive level and strategic developments and improvements but also requires that the successful incumbent work closely with the permanent Operations Manager to deliver successful day to day operational execution.The Executive Officer is accountable to the Board and is responsible for:the effective implementation and achievement of the organisations strategic and operational plans for sustainability and growthmaintaining a healthy and vibrant organisation and team, courageous in working toward our vision and instilling the values of the organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesGovernance and ComplianceServe as the primary liaison to the Board, supporting governance and decision-making.Organize and attend Board and subcommittee meetings, delivering reports and updates. Provide the Board with necessary information, reports, and minutes.Ensure compliance and timelines are met with ACNC (The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, ASIC (Australian Securities & Investments Commission), governance standards, insurance, and regulatory requirements.Ensure good governance, financial stewardship, and compliance with community standards.Represent the agency in governance matters.Work with the Marketing and Fundraising Manager to ensure SFS Annual Report, Project and Funding Final Reports are completed and submitted within allocated timeframes.Ensure compliance with all practice standards such as Workplace Health & Safety compliance.Leadership & People and CultureModel and ensure the SFS Values and Ethics across all aspects of the organisation.Provide effective leadership to the staff, volunteers, and wider community that relates to Shepparton Foodshare Limited.Motivate, develop, and gain commitment from staff and volunteers to the organisation''s purpose and directions.Facilitate an honest and responsive approach to resolving complex issues.Encourage self-responsibility and structures that value individual differences and maximise opportunities for participation.Support staff morale and well-being through regular meetings and individual check-ins.Manage rosters, recruitment, performance, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers.Ensure policies and procedures are in place to support employment, including recruitment, performance management, workplace conduct, and professional development.Onboard and train new staff.Business Strategy, Innovation and OperationsThe EO will hold responsibility for developing a business model to secure long-term sustainability of the organisation.Develop and oversee effective Social Enterprise Models, Service Models, and systems development.Oversee the implementation of SFSs Strategic Plan.Ensure all programs operate efficiently and within SFSs values and principles.Program and Financial ManagementDevelop and monitor budgets, work with SFS Treasurer to provide financial reports to the Board, ensure effective day-to-day financial administration, and maintain appropriate insurance and liability management.Monitor program operations, ensuring targets and objectives are met.Property and Assets: Provide oversight of asset and equipment management with Operations Manager responsible for primary management.Oversee financial administration, including invoicing, payroll, acquittals, financial reporting, and BAS submissions.Develop and oversee the annual budgets.Ensure financial sustainability through revenue generation and fundraising initiatives.Being the Public Face of SFSCapability to represent SFS in public relations, media, and forums. Work in conjunction with Marketing to develop the messaging for these opportunities/forums.Community Engagement, Program Development and FundraisingRepresent SFS Values and Practices in all engagement with the community service sector and in service development relationships/partnerships.Collaborate with SFS Marketing and Fundraising Manager on community engagement and fundraising initiatives.Engage with relevant local, state, and national organisations and networks.Identify gaps and service needs for presentation to the Board.Identify initiatives and opportunities in program development and funding.Develop partnerships in relation to service gaps, needs, and funding opportunities.Support internal program development and review.Encourage innovation and creativity in service improvement and development.Strategically reduce barriers and stigma in accessing community assistance.Quality & SafetyDevelop SFSs commitment to continuous improvement through evaluation, review and the development of an evidence base for all programs.Ensure all appropriate policies and procedures are in place at a Governance and Operational level and are regularly reviewed.Collaborate with the SFS team and Board to develop program initiatives based on internal monitoring, service gaps, and review outcomes.Ensure a safe working environment for all staff, volunteers, and program participants.Oversee regular risk assessments and ensure appropriate measures are in place to mitigate hazards.Provide training and support for staff and volunteers on health and safety best practices.Oversee incident reporting and management, ensuring prompt response and resolution.Position is conditional upon and subject to:Working with Children check and Police check.There being no limitations on ability to perform all duties including but not limited to physical or psychological limitations.Hold a drivers licence.
