Job Description

The Role MSF Sugar is seeking a skilled and reliable Loader Operator to join the MSF Sugar team. This is a fixed-term seasonal full-time position, located at our Tableland Mill, which is approximately 25km west of Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands. The Loader Operator position is an integral part of the site operations team, working on shift to ensure the efficient and safe operation of mobile plant equipment for the transportation and stockpiling of bagasse. Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: Safely operating mobile plant equipment, including loaders and trucks, to transport and stockpile bagasse. Operating a Loader and truck to reclaim biomass for Co-Generation purposes, supporting the sustainable energy production process. Performing pre-start checks and identifying/reporting any defects, while also carrying out general maintenance on mobile plant equipment to ensure optimal performance. During periods of high crushing activity, managing surplus bagasse by transporting it to site stockpiles using 55m trucks, and profiling the stockpiles with the loader to meet site standards. Demonstrating the ability to perform tasks while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including long clothing and hearing/eye protection, to ensure safety. Working efficiently in a hot environment, with the stamina to maintain performance. Remaining in a standing position for extended periods and working in a vibrating environment while performing essential duties. Frequently walking, climbing stairs, and occasionally bending or working in a hunched position as part of routine operations. Additional skills and occupational training are highly desirable and will be considered an asset.
