Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medavie Health Services (MHS) that manages and operates ground ambulance, air medical transport, and medical communications in Nova Scotia through contracts with the provincial government and the Department of Health. EMC operates TeleHealth/811 medical communications for Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Position Details Type: Temporary Application Deadline: (Insert deadline if available) Role Overview The System Support Technician Logistics (SSTL), Student, reports to the Manager of Logistics, Facilities & Materials Management. The role involves providing logistical support for EHS systems, assisting with repairs and maintenance at Provincial Paramedic Bases, and supporting the distribution of medical supplies and equipment. The SSTL Student is expected to uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety, ensuring all stations are well-maintained and operational. Key Responsibilities Operate all system vehicles according to EMC and EHS policies. Maintain documentation for supply chain, materials management, and facility inspections. Assist in stocking and maintaining paramedic supply stations and hospitals. Perform inspections and light repairs at Paramedic Base Stations. Comply with all safety practices and company policies. Conduct vehicle inspections and ensure readiness. Maintain cleanliness of logistics vehicles and depot facilities. Interact professionally with vendors, colleagues, and the public. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Grade 12 education. Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia Driver''s License with a clean abstract. WHMIS, First Aid, and TDG certifications or willingness to obtain them. Skills & Physical Requirements Effective communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Decision-making and initiative. Ability to operate small engine equipment (training provided). Ability to work irregular hours, including shifts, weekends, and holidays. Physical ability to lift 13.5-22.5kg (30-50 lbs). Work environments include stations, hospitals, logistics centers, and remote areas.
