Administrator School of Social Sciences (UNSW Faculty Arts, Design & Architecture)Be among the first 25 applicantsEmployment Type: Full Time, Continuing (35-hour week)Location: Kensington, NSW (the successful candidate will be required to work on campus 3 days a week)This job is based in Australia.Why The Role MattersThe Administrator provides effective day-to-day administrative support within the School office to ensure all services are provided efficiently to meet the operating needs of the School. This role will primarily support the School office team, working closely with other administrative staff under the direction of the School Manager. The Administrator may also support the Deans Unit under the Operations Manager. This position involves team collaboration, especially during peak times, sharing roles and supporting colleagues.Accountabilities(please review the Position Description for a full list of Accountabilities)Provide high-level administrative support to the Head of School, Deputy Heads, School Manager, and Senior Academic Staff, including diary management, correspondence, travel, and accommodation arrangements.Act as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining effective communication, analyzing requests, and prioritizing urgent or sensitive matters.Offer advice on administrative guidelines, processes, and activities to academic staff, fostering effective relationships to support service delivery.Develop and maintain detailed filing systems, spreadsheets, databases, websites, and other administrative tools.Draft agendas, minutes, correspondence, briefing notes, and guidelines for committees and meetings.Respond to inquiries via in-person, telephone, and email channels, initiating, acting upon, or escalating as necessary.Monitor finance requests, including purchasing, travel, credit card reconciliation, reimbursements, and billing.Support the organization of meetings and events for stakeholders.Assist with induction and onboarding for new staff and visitors, including system access and site orientation.Skills And ExperienceApplicants must have Australian Working Rights or Citizenship; visa sponsorship is not available.Relevant tertiary qualification with experience or equivalent competence through education, training, and experience.Advanced time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Experience in providing customer service and support at all levels.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Good judgment and ability to work independently and in teams.Experience supporting projects and initiatives.Advanced numeracy skills.Benefits And CultureWe value our staffs contributions, which make UNSW a leading university in Australia and globally.Our Benefits IncludeFlexible working options (remote work, flexible hours)Career development opportunities17% Superannuation contributions and extra leave paymentsAdditional leave during ChristmasDiscounts and entitlements in retail, education, and fitnessMore info: To ApplySubmit a Cover Letter and CV via the UNSW Job Board before Monday 28th April 2025, 11:30 pm.
