Senior Associate (Lawyer) - Commercial with an interest in Funds ManagementPermanent, full-time position, based in any of our 8 office locations (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Newcastle, Adelaide, Canberra, or Darwin).Hybrid and flexible working; WFH and from modern, open-plan offices. This role will work closely with highly regarded Partners and lawyers across the practice.Our team has expertise in advising on investment and property funds, financial services compliance, regulation and licensing, financial product distribution, anti-money laundering, crowdfunding, non-cash payments, ASIC surveillance responses, and superannuation. Our HW Funds team is Australias leading investment funds advisory team.You will be responsible for:Assisting with the establishment and operation of funds and fund-related transactions across all asset classes, including fund restructures, mergers, and closures.Advising on Australian financial services licensing and regulatory requirements, including licensing applications, variations, and compliance obligations.Preparing and reviewing disclosure documents such as product disclosure statements, information memoranda, advertising material, investor statements, and reports.Undertaking due diligence processes for proposed transactions and disclosure documents.Reviewing fund-related commercial agreements and advising on arrangements with service providers.In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to the development of the Banking & Financial Services practice and the firm by:Participating in marketing and business development activities, including seminars and presentations.Preparing and reviewing precedents.Adhering to the firms file management policies.Participating in team and section meetings and CPD activities.About youYou will ideally have the following skills and experience:Between 5-8 years of post-admission experience in corporate and commercial law, including private practice experience.An enthusiasm for and interest in practicing in the financial services sector, specifically funds management.An interest in using innovation to develop the practice.Excellent technical, analytical, and drafting skills with keen attention to detail.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.A strong commitment to client service and the ability to manage client relationships.A focus on achieving commercial solutions for clients.A willingness and ability to mentor and supervise junior team members.Initiative and effective organization and prioritization skills.About usHall & Wilcox is a leading independent Australian law firm.
