The Role The Senior Solicitor in the Statewide Child Protection Litigation Office (Statewide CPLO) provides legal advice, support, and representation for child protection cases. The role involves appearing in and managing litigation in courts such as the Children''s Court of Victoria, Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), and related jurisdictions. The successful candidate will primarily work with one of the legal teams within Statewide CPLO and will need to travel to various court locations and child protection offices. Accountabilities Represent the department in complex and sensitive litigation in the Children''s Court of Victoria, VCAT, and other jurisdictions. Provide expert legal advice on complex issues, prepare high-level briefings and correspondence, and advise on legal and policy developments affecting the department. Mentor and support internal staff at all levels, especially junior staff, and external stakeholders as needed. Please refer to the detailed position description for more information.
