It involves providing expert legal and compliance advice on financial services legislation relevant to general insurance and distribution.Key Responsibilities:Providing advice on financial services legislation (including the Corporations Act, ASIC Act, Insurance Contracts Act) relevant to general insurance and insurance distribution.Drafting and advising on disclosure documents (PDSs, policy wordings, FSGs), client letters, marketing collateral.Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts including supplier agreements, software agreements, outsourcing arrangements, NDAs, internal policies, distribution agreements, insurance binders, broker TOBAs, claims management agreements, and other contracts.Supporting the Compliance team with breach assessments, regulatory reporting, and complaints management.Updating the business on relevant regulatory developments and supporting training and education on obligations.Assisting with M&A activities.Supporting Company Secretarial activities.The list above is not exhaustive, and duties may evolve to meet company objectives. Fulfill other duties as requested by management.Successful Candidate Will HaveBachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice or equivalent.Qualified legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory.At least 8 years experience as a solicitor, with a mix of private practice and in-house legal work in financial services, working with large insurers, banks, or underwriting agencies.General corporate and commercial experience is desirable.Solid understanding of Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act 2001 and Regulations.Knowledge of APRA and ASIC obligations relating to insurance product distribution.About 360 Underwriting SolutionsFounded in 2017, 360 Underwriting Solutions specializes in providing insurance solutions for the broker market.
