To gain insights that help create improved access to our medicines and drive scientific leadership.Main ResponsibilitiesProvide scientific information, exchange and leadershipFoster medical and scientific exchange with selected thought leaders (TL) on topics of mutual interest, including scientific and medical data and developments as well as disease area management.Respond professionally and quickly to documented unsolicited requests from the field and external stakeholders for clinical information and data in relation to disease specific questions on Ipsens Oncology marketed products, on-label or offlabel, through telephone, written and/or face-to-face contact.Respond professionally and quickly to documented unsolicited requests from the field and external stakeholders for clinical information and data in relation to Ipsens pipeline research programmes and marketed products.Deliver presentations on scientific, clinical and technical aspects on our products. - Assist in the organisation and scientific support of key external National and Regional events e.g. satellite symposia etc.Provide professional clinical information and data following pro-active set up of discussions on limited topics, in line with appropriate Ipsen SOPs and the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct.Drive insight generation60%-70% time in-fieldDevelop and maintain knowledgeDevelop slide and information packs to be used to communicate scientific and clinical data for approval for use by the team in broader communications.Track and manage evolving evidence base in areas critical for the organisation. Ensure this is communicated to the appropriate personnel and any scientific support is provided. For example, crucial new data that could be supportive in promotional campaigns, competitor intelligence/data opportunities for discussion at brand meetings or advisory boards.Maintain a medical database of HCPs and TLs of importance to disease areas and or products of interest to Ipsen as captured in the CRM system(Veeva Medical)Support HCPs, including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), in line with Ipsen strategy. Support HCPs by reactively (and proactively where appropriate) providing them with scientific and clinical dataAttend appropriate scientific congresses to interact with HCPs and develop knowledge in relevant therapy areas.Contribute to National and Regional round-table-meetings and/or Advisory Panels to stimulate scientific exchange between physicians in relevant therapy areas.Organise and participate in external education and training events as appropriate.Be the first point of contact for information exchange with investigators relating to clinical trial proposals in the designated territory and work closely with the relevant Scientific Advisor and other stakeholders.Support internal medical review and facilitate processing of unsolicited externally sponsored study requests. Provide, upon request, scientific material pertaining to the Ipsen compound or disease area to the Investigator proposing the study.Obtain competitive information through congress attendance, HCP interaction and any other appropriate means in the relevant therapeutic areaProvide medical brand supportSupport Ipsen speakers at scientific/medical meetings, if requested by HCPs, by preparing slides and speaker briefings for approval.Collaborate with the team to ensure appropriate scientific support is available and implemented for HCPs as part of overall advocacy plans.Provide ongoing training and development of Specialist Representatives to enhance product and disease knowledge.Input to and drive action based on the Key Customer PlanPartner with sales representatives to understand and resolve customer needs and issues as appropriateCompliance and governanceScientific support should be informed, balanced, current, and comply with the spirit and letter of Medicines Australia Code of Conduct. This includes, but is not restricted to, maintaining high professional standards of conduct, in line with Ipsen Company Standard Operating Procedures, with a duty of care to the reputation of the company.Responsible for maintaining an up to date training recordInput into regular review of internal SOPs to ensure that these are compliant with regulatory requirements.Build knowledge and expertise in medical governanceBuild and drive knowledge in GxPLead organisation and improve productivitySupport the dissemination of Product and disease area knowledge across - Ipsen Limited in accordance with business prioritiesRegular communication of best practice and facilitation of knowledge sharingAssist in promoting continuous improvement in the departmentIdealKnowledge, Abilities & ExperienceIdeally educated to post-graduate degree level, appropriate clinical specialisation (e.g. Ph.D. Pharm D or M.Sc. in Pharmacology) or other related health sciences discipline;Understanding and working experience of the relevant therapy areas (oncology). - At least 3 years in a similar roleMinimumA recognized Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Bio-Medical Science or Science is required.Proven experience and successful track record as an MSL professional in a previous company (oncology experience preferred)Knowledge of the TGA, PBS, the Pharmaceutical Industry and Medicines Australia Code.Proven experience of critically appraising clinical evidence, and an ability to assimilate large volumes of dataAbility to collaborate and share information to contribute to strategic plans.Ability to conduct clear and concise scientific discussions at a high level.Comfortable working within a commercially-focused environmentKey Technical Competencies RequiredOpinion Leader Management and EngagementDevelopment & delivery of highly technical presentations which are also engaging, impactful, professional and memorable for the key audience - Knowledge and understanding of MA Code and Pharmacovigilance legislationProficiency in computer skillsExcellent verbal (including fluency in the English language), written, analytical, presentation and interpersonal skillsDemonstrates an ability to build and maintain a strong network of effective scientific relationships with stakeholders and maintain an understanding for HCPs, to achieve trusted advisor status.Demonstrates excellent time management skills, can manage complex information and adapt to new circumstances and ideas.
