Temporary and part-time roles may not be eligible for all inclusions.Moira Shire Council is an Equal Opportunity Employer offering flexible work arrangements for employees in a family-friendly work place.Moira promotes a workplace that actively seeks to include, welcome and value the contributions of all people and encourages people with a disability, Aboriginal Australians, young people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities and FunctionsMaintenance of parks and gardens, recreation reserves, town streetscapes and roadsides.Construction and maintenance of grassed areas, including mowing in streets and parks, and slashing of roadsides and other areas.Construction and maintenance of garden beds and landscape features.Construction and maintenance of irrigation systems.Installation of warning signs, safety lights and barricades at work sites.Erection and maintenance of traffic control devices, street signs and guideposts etc.Ensure that daily routine maintenance on assigned plant and equipment is carried out; record and report any faults.Ensure that all assigned plant and equipment is returned to a depot, or otherwise securely stored at end of shift.Undertake minor repairs to assigned plant and equipment.Report daily, any observed damage to Council assets.Accurately record daily work activities for reporting to Leading Hand/Team Leader.Participate in knowledge/skills developmental training, or OH&S training as directed.The maintenance of strict confidentiality in any matter which may affect Councils ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and/or contractors.Participate in Councils after hours call out phone and duty roster and public convenience cleaning roster.Desired Skills and ExperienceWith your application, please submit in your cover letter how you meet theKey Selection Criteria:Trade qualification or proven experience in Horticulture/Landscaping or related field.Demonstrated experience in a similar role.Relevant licences MR minimum required and experience in safe operation of a variety of plant (chainsaw, tractors, mowers, etc.).Understanding and commitment to OH&S practices relevant OH&S cards including Construction Induction Card.Ability to work in a team or autonomously. #J-18808-Ljbffr
