In Australia, our Energy Minerals business is a leading provider of coal testing, analysis and expert advice, and we are currently looking for Coal Technicians to join our Muswellbrook operations. We are seeking candidates who are looking for an exciting career change to work with a global leader for quality and integrity in a full-time role based in Muswellbrook, NSW. Job Description SGS is looking for a Coal Technician on a full-time basis, responsible for timely and quality sampling, preparation, and analysis of samples for internal and external customers. After full training, you will be responsible, but not limited to: Assist with the preventative maintenance of all preparation and laboratory equipment. Ensure accuracy, precision, and traceability of prepared samples. Assist with the calibration of all preparation and laboratory equipment. Follow routine and non-routine sampling instructions. Opportunity to obtain a nationally recognized qualification if desired. Qualifications SGS will provide full training and on-the-job learning, but as the successful candidate, you will also have: Previous experience in a fast-paced, physically active industrial environment. Willingness to learn new tasks. Reliability with a strong customer focus. Previous coal sampling and testing experience would be an advantage. Some computer skills, e.g., Excel, would be beneficial. A valid drivers license and reliable transport are essential. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work shift and rosters and meet tight deadlines.
