Seeking a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for this beautiful coastal region of New South Wales only an hour from Sydney! The Role This is your opportunity to join a well-established team in the geographical environs of the south coast of New South Wales. The primary purpose of the role is to provide high-quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in acute child and adolescent psychiatry, with occasional coverage of the adolescent inpatient unit. You will consider psychotropic medication, physical health, and legal frameworks in assessment and care provision. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality specialist psychiatry services to emergency patients, inpatients, and outpatients at the hospital. There is an opportunity to lead virtual teams serving community and inpatient consumers. Teaching and supervising staff, including psychiatry trainees, is a key aspect of the role. Participation in the on-call roster is required. Requirements Applicants should be registered or eligible for registration as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or an equivalent overseas-trained specialist who completed training in the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABPN certified), or New Zealand. The Medical Board of Australia has an expedited pathway to specialist registration as of December 2024, which simplifies the process for those with accepted qualifications such as MRCPsych and a CCT after 2007.
