About The Pharmacy Department: The Pharmacy Department operates across five campuses and has a strong vision to deliver exceptional, evidenced-based care to our patients with a clear focus on research, medication safety and clinical excellence. Meeting the immediate and longer-term health care needs of our community requires a transformation in how we provide health care services, and Northern Health has embarked on the journey to transform into a High Reliability Healthcare Organisation. The department comprises over 100 pharmacists and 30 technicians to provide clinical, operational, quality and informatics services with a strong focus on workforce culture and commitment to professional development. About The Role: An opportunity exists for a Grade 2 Registrar Training Pharmacist Gastroenterology to join the team at Northern Health and become part of the inaugural AdPha-accredited Gastroenterology program in Australia. This role will require work over 8 days (64 hours) per fortnight at the Northern Hospital with potential to work at other sites of Northern Health as required. The Registrar Training Pharmacist will be supported to advance their practice in Gastroenterology and develop their skills through completion of a two-and-a-half-year program as an AdPha Registrar Candidate in Gastroenterology. The pharmacists work plan will include work in Gastroenterology outpatients and inpatients in relevant specialty areas (e.g., inpatient Gastroenterology and General Medicine) under the mentorship of the Senior Pharmacist Gastroenterology. They will continue as a rotational clinical pharmacist within the Pharmacy Department following completion of the program. The Department of Gastroenterology at Northern Health is a rapidly expanding multidisciplinary team of more than 25 experienced & highly trained gastroenterologists, clinical nurse consultants, dietitians, pharmacists, and a psychologist. The Department provides comprehensive, patient-centric, general gastroenterology, hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease & endoscopy services for outpatients and inpatients. To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have: A minimum of 3-5 years full-time experience as a hospital pharmacist A demonstrated passion for working in Gastroenterology Experience and good working knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations. Demonstrated good interpersonal and communication skills.
