$86,887 - $93,066 up to 15.4% Superannuation Canungra - QLD The Role The APS 5 Capability Manager is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to, relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defences mission and policy requirements. We are looking for someone with strong organisational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will be required to manage priorities, meet deadlines and exercise discretion. As the Capability Manager you will interpret policy, legislation and procedures and provide administrative support, guidance and advice to the work area. You will also provide administrative assistance to personnel, including transfers and trainee management analysis and recording. This is a desk-based position involving computer use and working with others towards shared goals in a collaborative team environment. The Workplace Environment Involves: Computer Use. About our Team The Capability Manager will work in an integrated work environment in a small team at the Land Warfare Centre (LWC) Canungra. They will be required to engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes on behalf of the Unit to meet the mission of achieving the Directed Training Requirement (DTR) within the All Corps Officer and Soldier Training Continuum. They will be required to coordinate and contribute to the work of the team, while also coaching and/or supervising an APS 4 team member and be accountable to set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance. In addition, they will be required to direct and set Headquarters (HQ) tasks and priorities for sub-unit APS/Army resource managers in the Wings. They will need to work integrally as part of the HQ LWC team working with other APS members as well as junior and senior Army personnel. They are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training within their work area.
