About Us Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation (KBHAC) is a Not-for-Profit, Aboriginal community-controlled organisation established to help restore and reconstruct the identity, dignity and integrity of Aboriginal men who were forcibly removed from their families and put into the Kinchela Boys Home (KBH). We aim to address the intergenerational trauma that adversely impacts on the lives of Stolen Generations Survivors, their families and descendants. About the Role We are seeking a candidate who identifies and is accepted as a First Nations Person , to join our team on a full time basis to support our Redress Support Service and supporting the Stolen Generations. In this role you will: Respond to internal and external referrals related to information and application for the National Redress Scheme. Provide intake, assessment and case management for clients eligible for engagement with the National Redress Scheme. Work in collaboration with the trauma specialist counselling services towards increasing client access to the National Redress Scheme Build relationships with external service providers including but not limited to other Redress Support services, correctional facilities and specialist sexual assault services. Identify opportunities for partnerships that progresses FSA toward its objectives. Represent KBHAC at various agencies and professional networks and the local community. Facilitate effective communication across multiple health care disciplines to optimise positive health outcomes for clients. Maintain appropriate therapeutic rapport, whilst upholding appropriate boundaries and focusing on progressing client goals. Requirements We are seeking a candidate who has: Prior experience working with Stolen Generations Survivors, Survivors of child sexual abuse, institutional care, First Nations people with a disability and/or Young First Nations people who have transitioned out of care. Experience providing Trauma-informed care and social/emotional wellbeing support Strong skills in Microsoft Office. Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain) Current Working with Childrens Check (or willingness to obtain) Current unrestricted drivers license Ability to travel the north and south coasts with some overnight stays.
