The Senior Guidance Officer plays a key role in the region''s delivery of regional guidance services. The role is line managed by the Deputy Principal Education Officer: Student Services. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and maintain the provision of professional development related to guidance and counselling skills. Provide direct guidance services to students as determined through consultation with Principals. Work with Principals and school-based guidance officers to ensure effective guidance and counselling services. Coordinate and support guidance and counselling services in schools in consultation with Principals. Develop and implement a system of technical and clinical supervision with Principals to ensure appropriate guidance services, focusing on psychoeducational practices, personal, career, course counselling, and behaviour management interventions. Participate in regional Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) teams as required and promote effective multi-agency networks for a holistic response to complex educational, personal, and vocational needs. Design and implement training, induction, and supervisory programs for Guidance Officers. Mandatory Requirements Current full registration as a teacher in Queensland. Qualifications Completed coursework Masters in guidance and counselling or equivalent, including psychoeducational assessment, counselling, and mental health. OR general or provisional registration as a psychologist through AHPRA. OR an APAC-accredited four- or five-year psychology qualification enabling registration as a psychologist following internship or study sequence.
