Job Description

The Senior Guidance Officer plays a key role in the region''s delivery of guidance services. This commitment starts with recruitment and selection, which may involve various assessment methods, including reasonable adjustments to support applicants at all stages of the process and throughout the employee lifecycle.You will be responsible for leading activities and delivering key tasks such as:Coordinating and maintaining professional development related to guidance and counselling skills.Providing direct guidance services to students, as determined through consultation with Principals.Collaborating with Principals and school-based guidance officers to ensure effective guidance and counselling services for students.Supporting the provision of guidance and counselling services in schools in consultation with Principals.Developing and implementing a system of technical and clinical supervision in collaboration with Principals, focusing on psychoeducational practices, personal, career, course counselling, and behaviour management interventions.Participating in regional Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) teams as required and promoting effective multi-agency networks to address complex educational, personal, and vocational needs.Designing and implementing training, induction, and supervisory programs for Guidance Officers.Mandatory RequirementsCurrent full registration as a teacher in Queensland.
