Many other parks and reserves as well as significant areas of State forest make up the majority of the land that we manage. The landscape of the region include a diversity of coastal heath, tall karri forests to open jarrah and wandoo woodlands to the remnant Tingle forest. The region has an average annual rainfall range of 1,450 mm to 550 mm within which is embedded wetlands of international and national significance, pristine estuaries and wild rivers.Our key service deliverables are nature conservation, parks and visitor services, sustainable forest management, and fire management.We currently have an opportunity for a Machine Plant Coordinator to join our team.Under general direction, you will:Coordinate the works programs, maintenance, and servicing of all district machine plant, and ensure the daily dispatch of machine plant and operators.Lead, supervise, facilitate training and operate (to the limit of the licence held) heavy machinery such as a 960 Caterpillar Wheel Loader or equivalent, D7 Caterpillar bulldozer or equivalent, or Prime Mover and trailer suitable for transporting heavy machinery in forested environments and challenging terrain.Undertake bushfire suppression work at all categories of bushfire (Level 1, 2 and 3) and is fire line competent.Impart knowledge and experience and apply appropriate disease hygiene requirements at all times and particularly in environmentally sensitive areas.At the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), we have adopted Leadership Expectations which provides a common understanding of the mindsets and expected behaviours required of all our employees and the public sector.
