Are you an experienced Safety and Wellbeing professional?This exciting and diverse role within our Not-For-Profit organisation may be for you!Operating within the People & Culture team and reporting directly to the Executive Manager People and Culture, this critical role is instrumental in supporting a nurturing culture that drives a safe and healthy workplace.About the RoleThe role will establish, maintain, and promote wellness and safety practice excellence in a work environment that ensures the safety of all employees and compliance with relevant legislation and standards.This is a hands-on role where your expertise really matters. A key focus will be on promoting and ensuring psychosocial safety within the workplace. You''ll have the opportunity to grow the role and make a real impact on safety and wellbeing.What we offerGreat Salary Packaging benefits offered.Professional development and training opportunities.Employee Assistance and Wellbeing Programs.A passionate and supportive Team environment.Equal Opportunity and Rainbow Tick Accredited employer.Key responsibilities for this role include:Develop and implement sound WHS policies, procedures, and plans that strive for best practice, are fit for purpose, and compliant with the WHS Act, relevant regulations, and legislation.Undertake safety inspections and audits, complete risk assessments, investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.Develop, deliver, and implement an innovative health and wellbeing program to support organisational initiatives towards creating a healthy workplace.Lead the WHS Committee and meetings, employee Wellbeing Program, and Working Group.Design and deliver wellbeing programs, workshops, and events.Promote safety initiatives and facilitate internal training, including the New Employee Induction, to ensure safety practices are integrated into daily operations.Report on health and safety awareness, initiatives, issues, and statistics as required.Monitor WHS and wellbeing across all sites, including hazard reporting, risk assessments, and control measures.Work in line with information sharing legislation provisions and other legal requirements.About youYou will demonstrate a positive outlook and thrive in an environment where you can identify improvements, develop and implement systems and procedures, and help drive a safety-first culture.You are a self-motivated, diligent individual capable of working independently and positively in a team.Your expertise should include:Minimum of three years experience in a safety officer or advisory role.Certificate IV in Training and Assessing (desirable).Knowledge and understanding of the not-for-profit community services sector (highly regarded).About usThe Mallee Sexual Assault Unit (MSAU) and Mallee Domestic Violence Services (MDVS) provide services for women, men, and children across the Northern and Southern Mallee region, including border communities of New South Wales, the Mallee Track, and Shires of Gannawarra and Buloke.
