The Strategy, Engagement and Education team develops and delivers engagement and education strategies that raise awareness about the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 and how it addresses unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation in Western Australian. These strategies include the use of instruments such as publications, the website, social media, events and community education sessions.In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative initiatives aimed at promoting public awareness and understanding about the Equal Opportunity Act . You will engage with diverse community groups to learn from peoples lived experience to inform the way that the SEE team educates people about equal opportunity legislation and develops strategies to increase awareness and education about equal opportunity topics.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute community engagement strategies to raise awareness and understanding of the Equal Opportunity Act .Coordinate, develop and publish digital and online content, promotional and educational materials and other information resources, including the Commissions Annual Report.Organise, promote and deliver events, workshops and community education sessions to increase awareness of, and compliance with, the Equal Opportunity Act .Collaborate with community organisations, stakeholders, and the public to promote equal opportunity initiatives.This role requires a proactive, creative and collaborative individual with excellent communication and organisation skills and a passion for promoting equality and inclusivity.
