Job DescriptionThe purpose of this role is to provide high-quality support and intervention services to young people subject to a youth justice intervention, their families, and communities. The goal is to reduce the overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in the youth justice system.Mandatory RequirementsDriver''s license: It is mandatory for the occupant to hold an unrestricted "C" Class driver''s licence, as the role requires driving government vehicles.Blue Card: Since the position provides support services to children and young people, a valid Blue Card linked with the organization is required prior to starting. Refer to Blue Card Services for more information.Travel: The role is based in Townsville, but travel within the region, including overnight stays, may be required for site visits and to other departmental offices.Cultural Reference: Applicants are encouraged to provide a referee who is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, able to attest to their background, knowledge, skills, and experience related to cultural capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver support and intervention services to young people involved in youth justice, their families, and communities, adhering to legislative, policy, and procedural requirements.Implement culturally appropriate, individualized case plans, including designing intervention strategies, delivering change-oriented programs, negotiating with service providers, and linking clients to necessary services.Participate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team involving internal and external stakeholders to achieve quality service outcomes.Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including families, elders, community members, agencies, and government departments.Manage records and information, including case records, reports, performance data, and organizational accountability documentation.Engage in training and development to maintain knowledge and skills aligned with departmental priorities, legislation, policies, and current trends.Contribute to good governance and departmental objectives.Demonstrate or develop cultural capability to support an inclusive environment that respects the Human Rights Act 2019 and promotes cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.Applications remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/633344/25Closing Date: Thursday, 22nd May 2025Occupational group: Community Care #J-18808-Ljbffr
