The project will be a significant contributor to the South Australian economy and will provide employment opportunities for locals and for those looking to move to the area.Hillside is in a fantastic location 150km from Adelaide and is one of the largest undeveloped copper / gold projects in Australia. Stage 1 of the project is fully approved and early-stage site access work has commenced. Further site work and awarding of contracts and building the team to execute the project will proceed at pace over the course of 2025. The project will be operated under a contract mining model with oversight from an experienced owners team.The scene is therefore set and Hillside will be one of the next greenfield mining projects in Australia to get off the ground.About the role:As Manager Environment you will be responsible for overseeing all environmental management activities for Rex Minerals Hillside Project. This role requires a strong commitment to sustainability, regulatory compliance and environmental protection in a community setting.The Manager Environment will work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders and regulators to ensure that all environmental policies, procedures, and practices meet the highest standards, and comply with our Program for Environmental Protection and Rehabilitation (PEPR).Experience required:Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field10-15 years experience in environmental management within the mining or resources sector.3+ years experience in leadership positions.Previous experience in a remote or small-community environment is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of relevant State and Commonwealth environmental and mining legislation including best practiceProven experience in delivering and implementing PEPR requirements and environmental compliance in South Australia.Demonstrated success in developing EMS frameworks and leading environmental teams.Experience engaging with regulators, Traditional Owners, and local communities on environmental matters.Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.Whats on offer:Permanent position with a growing mining company on a greenfield project that is fully permitted and is supported by the local community.Attractive salary package, professional development and employee benefits.Relocation assistance available to the Yorke Peninsula area of South Australia.
