Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.About The OpportunityTo support the delivery of the North East Link Central Package we are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Advisor with a background in civil construction, tunnelling or manufacturing projects.We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our established team who will support and drive the HSE culture on site while working with the Zone Health and Safety Managers and the wider project team to provide guidance, clarity and support to lead the safety culture.This Role Will Be Accountable ForMentoring and coaching personnel to drive a culture of "Safety and Health above all else"Investigating incidents and events, and responding with corrective actionsMonitoring S&H performance and ensuring compliance with S&H policy, procedures and legislative requirementsConducting regular inspections and audits and maintaining associated documentation and recordsImplementing and monitoring safety and health controls and communication to stakeholders and teams for inclusion in work planning activitiesAssisting in the development construction planning documentsConducting or facilitating safety educational programsAssisting with reporting requirements as requiredInfluencing and fostering a strong One HSEQ Culture through strong leadership and communication skillsMaintain regular visibility across the workplace, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.Demonstrated understanding and application of relevant legislation and best practice in a construction environmentMinimum Requirements For This Role AreIdeally, 5+ years'' experience in Construction and/or heavy industry and high-risk workplaces.Formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.Safety Lead Auditor QualificationExperience in managing health controls within the construction environment.Ability to build relationships and rapport with people at all levelsStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organisational skills and attention to detailComputer literacyCurrent Driver''s LicenceWhat We OfferOngoing career support and development opportunitiesGenerous parental leaveStrong culture charterQuarterly social eventsReward and recognition programFlexible working arrangementsCompetitive salaryIf these opportunities are of interest to you, please click on the Apply now button to register your interest and please also subscribe to Job Alerts to be notified of upcoming opportunities with SPARK.Whilst we are keen to hear from candidates with proven infrastructure project experience or experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractor to be a part of an iconic construction project in Melbourne, Victoria, we also will consider applicants who are seeking to enter or re-enter the industry.SPARK is committed to equal employment opportunity (EEO) and actively seeks to remove barriers people may face in gaining a successful position on the North East Link Central Package.
