You will work closely with a small onsite Safety Team, ensuring compliance with WH&S regulations as well as influence & drive a positive safety culture for the project.The Cunningham Highway Restoration project is located within the Scenic Rim region and is a part of the Gondwana Rainforests World Heritage Area. Due to the location of the project, McIlwain offers housing for those that would prefer to stay locally during the week as the works are run from Monday to Friday.Duties:Monitor compliance with the safety systems and procedures within the workplace and provide operational support to the project management teamFacilitate and deliver site inductionsAttend all site pre-starts and communicate weekly toolbox to workforce and any incident findings or corrective actionsReporting, investigating, and implementing corrective and/or preventive actions resulting from identification of hazards, near miss incidents and work-related illness/injuryProvide ongoing health and safety advice to Supervisors, Contractors, and site workers to eliminate or minimize hazards.Review and approve all SWMS, risk assessments and VOCsAssist in the preparation and development of Project and Safety reportsSkills & Experience:2+ years experience in similar roleA thorough and working knowledge of WHS practices, standards and codesStrong understanding of Safety Management SystemsHigh level written and communication skillsQualifications:Cert IV in WH&S (minimum), however a Bachelor of WH&S is highly regardedCurrent First Aid and CPR qualificationsDrivers LicenseGeneral Construction Induction Card (White Card)Career development and training opportunitiesPaid Parental Leave for primary and secondary careersWeekly gym or wellness reimbursement schemeBonus annual leave days to encourage a work/life balanceSalary Reviews undertaken twice yearly and an End of Year Bonus SchemeCultural Leave ExchangeFree NAWIC membershipEmployee referral bonusUplift and Retention Bonus Scheme available on applicable projectsMcIlwain is committed to nurturing a diverse and inclusive culture of opportunity.
